weddings
My aim is to capture your wedding day as it unfolds, telling your unique story in images. I love taking photos and giving people images that make them happy.
Over the past ten years I’ve photographed 100’s of weddings and can share many tips to help you relax and take in every minute of this incredible experience.
It’s true – every wedding is different, but some things are consistent. There is is always love, laughter and tears of joy.
It’s the truly personal moments that I watch for – when the groom first catches sight of his bride, a quiet moment shared between you and your mum or dad, a hug from grandparents or the spontaneous gesture of a young child that fills the day with heart warming laughter.
To capture all those special moments, we’ll work together to create a simple plan so that flowers arrive on time, hair and make-up are ready, bridesmaids are dressed and there’s enough light for your creative photo’s.
We can talk about what you’d like your images to look like in advance. Lots of people want natural and candid shots and I hear the term “not posed” often. I do a mix of both, working with you as a couple to get a feel for what best suits your personalities.
It’s a busy day for the bride and groom so here’s and early tip. Enjoy those few moments immediately after the ceremony when your moved away form family and friends and it’s just the two of you. Those cherished minutes together are so precious and you wont even notice me subtly snapping away, capturing it all.
Post Production of your images will be in progress while you’re off enjoying the honeymoon. PP is part of my style and I am happy to talk about specific requests. I do provide black and white versions of images with 5+ hours wedding packages.
families & portraits
I apply a similar philosophy with family and portrait imagery, capturing you having fun in an environment where you’re most comfortable. Candid photo’s are very much part of my photography style, I also include some set up shots and work with you so we get any images you have in mind.
For prints, canvas’s, framed prints – have a think about how you would like your images displayed prior to the session. I can offer advise on suppliers, based on your preferences. Photo books are a great way to display your images.
For both weddings and portraits, I provide high resolution digital images and recommend that you get professional prints. My own kids are ‘print’ photo babies, and as young adults now, they still love taking out their albums and rummaging through boxes of “real” photos. I can help you arrange your prints, if it’s something you’d like help with.
I do retain the copyright on all my images, however you can print as desired for personal use.
a bit about me
I am one of those people who picked up a camera as a child and simply fell in love with taking photos. I studied photography with film cameras and got my first digital SLR in 2003. Through a good friend in the wedding photography business, I received training by a professional and gained invaluable practical experience.
Today, I shoot with Canon gear, and my current favourite is the 5d Mark lll.
I love my kids, my husband, my dogs, my family and my friends, holidays, photography, music and movies! I enjoy cooking and have discovered that having lots of photos to edit is a great excuse for avoiding housework.
I live in Stirling and love the Adelaide Hills – but I also love to travel so talk to me about your destination wedding.
